Dress code for clubs in Bali - travel next week

My 19year old son and his girlfriend are going to Bali and want to visit a few clubs on a couple of nights. They don't want to fill their bag with unnecessary shoes etc for just 2 nights so just wanting to check the dress code for guys and girls. But he will take them if that is the dress code.

-Are nice Vans suitable footwear or too casual for guys?

-long pants or nice tailored shorts (for guys) or combination? and a nice shirt.

-low heels or flats for girls?

Any other advice? Thanks
