How Do I use an IOLAN SDS 2 W Wireless Device?

I'd like to know how the heck do I use the IOLAN SDS 2 W. I have one of these on my desk with a power cord.

All I know is that I can hook up this device to an appropriate device (call it D) and after installing the device on a laptop in the next room I can communicate with device D just like I had my laptop directly hooked up to device D with coaxial cable.

Someone did mention source code coding to me.

What would you do to find out all the detailed steps on how to use this device?
