How to fix HP laptop model 15-D020LA smart disk error?

Hello guys, my cousin wanted me to change the hard drive of a laptop because of this error "The smart hard disk check has detected an imminent failure. To ensure no data loss, please backup the content immediately and run the hard disk system diagnostics" Error code 301.

Now, before changing the disk, I tested the laptop, tried F10 on start up, but no luck and F2 for system diagnostic and no response. Even pressed enter to check if it would just continue the start up. So I decided to just to what they told me and change the hard drive... I assumed the worst when I saw that the battery just falls off the device, and it was crawling with little insects... cleaned and changed hard drive. Same exact error, system unresponsive to any commands prompted on screen.

Any help will be appreciated.
