Is it worth having another go with the Moto G?

I've owned a few of these over the years and they've all had issues, whether it be over heating, memory leaks, no updates the list could go on. I like the look of the G5 Plus so am tempted but will anything have changed with Motorola/Lenovo? I am after a mid ranger so its between the G5 Plus, A5 2017 or Nokia 6.
