Photos in Camera Roll on iPhone Appears to be Grey?

I have the iPhone 7+, and my software is up to date with iOS 10.3.1. When I go to my camera roll, I can actually see the thumbnail of photos I took the other day, but when I click on the photos I can see them for a quick second and then they turn completely grey and I can no longer see the photo. Thankfully my phone isn't having this problem anymore, I can take a photo now and it will normally show in my camera roll.. but it was only a specific set of photos that I can't seem to recover. Some photos are showing up blurry and pixelated. I tried resetting my phone, opening and closing the app, googling about this problem (which many people had in the past but can't seem to find a solution).. not sure what else to do.please help.
